Albany Med News: Albany Med Opens New Multispecialty Medical Facility in Latham

Medical Offices to Begin Accepting Patients on Tuesday, May 1, 2018

ALBANY, N.Y., April 30, 2018 — Local elected officials today joined leadership and physicians from Albany Med and The Bone & Joint Center, community partners and representatives from Columbia Development Companies for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a new medical office building in Latham.

Located at 1019 New Loudon Road, the former site of Michael’s Banquet House, in Latham in the Town of Colonie, the 30,000 square-foot, $9.1 million state-of-the-art facility is the new home for:

  • Albany Med’s Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and Sports Medicine practices, previously located at 724 Watervliet Shaker Road in Latham;
  • A new Albany Med EmUrgentCare, the tenth Albany Med has opened, which provides advanced urgent care services every day of the year; and
  • A satellite office for orthopaedic specialists with The Bone & Joint Center.

Each of the offices will begin accepting patients on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

“The opening of this ultramodern facility is another step in Albany Med’s long-standing commitment to bring our high-quality, expert care closer to home,” said Ferdinand J. Venditti, M.D., executive vice president for system care delivery and hospital general director at Albany Med. “Through a walk-in clinic staffed by Albany Med’s emergency medicine-trained providers and easy access to specialists in internal medicine, pediatrics, sports medicine and orthopaedics, we’re proud to serve the care needs of the Latham community.”

“As community partners of Albany Med since 1998, we’re delighted to join in opening the doors at this new facility and we look forward to bringing our orthopaedic services to patients in Latham and the surrounding communities,” said David Quinn, M.D., of The Bone & Joint Center.

Designed by HCP Architects with engineering guidance from M.J. Engineering and Land Surveying, P.C., the facility was built by BBL Medical Facilities in collaboration with Columbia Development Companies, which owns and manages the space.

“Exceptional service, comprehensive planning and corporate social responsibility are among our driving principles,” said Richard Rosen, vice president and partner of Columbia Development Companies. “We’re proud to have brought all of them to bear in this project which offers essential services to the Latham community.”

Albany Med’s Internal Medicine and Pediatrics group, with attending physicians who are board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, provides comprehensive routine and preventive care for the whole family, including physical exams, immunizations/vaccinations, screenings, referrals for specialty care and on-site laboratory services.
